Ginger is an excellent detoxifier and aids the gut with digestion. Take one inch of ginger and place it in a cup of boiling hot water for 10 minutes. For sweetness (it’s spicy because it’s a spice), add 1-2 tablespoons of something natural (agave and squeeze of lemon is a good plant-based “cure” for the common cold or sore throat).

Drink 2-3 times a day, or eat ginger raw on a salad or added at the final moments of a warm curry, 2-3 times a day.

Bladderwrack Herb is a seaweed known for its high levels of iodine, and the thyroid glands are the only cells in the human body that can absorb it — to support metabolism among other benefits. Add 2 tablespoons of the herb in a cup of boiling hot water. Once it steeps for 10 minutes, add a natural sweetener and drink while still hot.

Flaxseeds are rich in fiber and antioxidants. The antioxidants are responsible for getting rid of free radicals in the body and prevents inflammation of the thyroid glands. They also contain high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, which trigger the production of thyroid hormones. Add 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds to your smoothies, fresh juice, water or any beverage and drink twice a day.
